On Saturday we decided to take Austin to Dan Nicholas Park in Salisbury, NC (about an hour away.) We had never been there before but it had so many things to do at such reasonable prices that we decided to give it a shot! When we got there we were all hungry so we went to the concession stand and got some corn dogs and drinks for lunch. I thought this would be a hit with Austin, but he took three bites and threw it on the floor...there went that idea. After lunch we rode the paddle boats. Austin loved the boat but did NOT like wearing the life jacket so we turned in early. Now with the boats out of the way we decided to head to dry ground and went on the train. It was totally cheesy but Austin LOVED it! He kept saying "choo choo" as we rode around the track. From the train we went to the carousel so Austin could ride the horses. David held on to him and I rode the horse next to him. He thought that was pretty neat. After the carousel we ventured to the petting zoo. BEST THING EVER!! He loved the animals and got to pet a sheep and a goat. It was so cute watching him ask them all to come over and stand next to him...only the goat agreed! So precious!! He also loved running through the barn (it made a great echo.) From the petting zoo we washed up and headed back home for glorious nap time! This is definitely a trip we will be making again!!
