Saturday we had this grand plan of going up to the Blue Ridge Parkway to see the beautiful leaves changing in all the gorgeous fall colors. We planned to eat at our diner that David and I have eaten at every year since I moved here nine years ago. We love sharing our traditions with the boys. We were going to hike our trail that leads through a beautiful field on the mountain. The key words here...planned and going to. Yep. Nothing worked out! First off, the alarm company insisted on meeting with us this morning at our house which delayed us 45 minutes from leaving. Thank you ADT. Then we picked up Austin from Carrie's house and he was asleep. Massive wake up drama....more delays. Finally on the road it was past lunch time and nearing dangerously close to nap time.
We finally arrived at the diner to find out it was closed for the season. We were all hungry and had to now drive 15 miles BACK the other direction with a screaming baby. YAY! We ended up finding a burger king in Sparta with an indoor playground. The boys had fun and we all got to eat so we were all happy again.
We piled back in the car and drove back the 15 miles to go on our hike. That didn't happen either. Austin had a HUGE meltdown and Asher was so beyond his nap, so we just got in the car and headed back home.
Luckily before we left, I was able to take some great pictures. I guess all was not lost!
How precious is this boy?
They were having so much fun running around (pre melt down.)

Daddy's turn
Austin asked me to take this picture of him and this giant stick he found.

Austin was such a good little model for me. I asked him to pose a million times and he did!
Well our day didn't go as planned, but we still had some fun. Happy November!
